TZE CHUN DANCE COMPANY (TCDC)

TCDC was founded in 2006 and creates modern dance works, site-specific performances, and multi-media projects.

The Company has performed at numerous NYC venues including: Dance New Amsterdam, Dance Theater Workshop, The Tank, Triskelion Arts, Riverside Theatre, Merce Cunningham Studios, CSV Center, DUO Theater, Center for Performance Research, 92nd Street Y, Joe's Pub, Dixon Place, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, La MaMa, South Oxford Space, Brooklyn Lyceum, the Ukrainian Institute, and Minor Latham Playhouse. TCDC has been presented by the NuDance Festival, Openhousenewyork, DNA's Raw Material Series, WAXWorks, 8cents Collective, CT Meets NYC Fest, the FAB! Festival and Block Party, Fridays at Noon, and the Dancenow NYC Festival (four separate years).

In 2010, TCDC performed the site-specific series Parlour Games in twelve historic locations throughout Brooklyn and completed their first international tour to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Beijing.

Since 2010, the company has been in residency at Tribeca Performing Arts Center creating and performing the works TAKEN  (2011), Flower and Willow  (2011), FLATROCK WILDFIRE  (2012)and TRANSMIT  (2013).

An entrepreneur and artist living in NYC, Tze Chun is the Artistic Director of Tze Chun Dance Company and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University with a BA in Dance and a BA in American Studies. 

Tze is also Founder of Uprise Arta contributor for Quarterly.co, Co-creator of MiniMash,  and a partner at Battersby
